Why am I seeing a warning about an online store?

We want to make it as safe as possible to find, add, and purchase wishes through GoWish.

That's why we've partnered with SKJOLDET, a Danish platform that works to identify and warn against fraudulent websites and online stores.

This partnership provides an extra layer of security, helping us warn you about online stores that may be suspicious or potentially fraudulent.

This feature is available in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

🛡️ When will I see a warning?

You may see a warning in two situations:

  • When adding a wish using a link: If the online store behind the link has been identified as potentially unsafe, you'll receive a warning before creating the wish.

  • When opening a wish or product: If the product links to an online store that has been identified as potentially unsafe, you may also see a warning before visiting the store.

⚠️ What does the warning mean?

The warning means that the online store has been identified as potentially suspicious.

This doesn't necessarily mean the store is fraudulent, but we recommend being extra cautious and checking the store carefully before making a purchase.

🎁 Can I still add the wish?

Yes! You can still choose to add the wish to your wishlist, even if a warning appears.

However, the warning will remain active, so anyone who later opens the wish to purchase the product will also be made aware of the potential risk.

🚩 What if I find a suspicious online store without a warning?

If you come across a product or online store that seems suspicious but doesn't display a warning, you can report it directly to us.

  1. Open the relevant product or wish.

  2. Select “Report issue”.

  3. Choose “Not safe” as the reason.

By doing so, you're helping us make GoWish safer for everyone.

Note: GoWish is not an online store, and all purchases are completed directly through the selected retailer. We therefore always recommend checking the online store before making a purchase, even if no warning is displayed.
